Windows 10 Bluescreen of Death! …again

Here we go again…

Apparently, the latest update is causing the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) with some users.

Yet again, we are having to choose between serious user downtime & security, due to a faulty Windows Update.

This one may be linked to the Connect app, that's built into Windows 10. It is a default app that facilitates wireless display connections, allowing you to mirror your phone screen to the PC. A neat feature-if it worked correctly.

So, what to do? We have the luxury of testing updates on workbench systems, with different processors and hardware. We find the AMD processors fail more often vs the Intel CPUs, but not consistently enough to call them out or recommend against them.

For end users, we recommend you pause non-vital updates and let others suffer “bleeding edge” fallout.

To delay the updates of  Windows 10, use these steps:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Click on Update & Security.

  3. Click on Windows Update.

  4. Click the Advanced options link.

  5. Under the "Pause Updates" section, use the drop-down menu to select how long you want to delay updates.
